A new series based on time travel

I saw something in the post about the popular clamoring for a new series on Netflix and the top comment of the time was saying they would like a new series that was set before Time Travel became a real thing. I can certainly see a downside to it, if done wrong. But imagine this:

Every week a new temporal threat occurs which the USS Time Travel Ship has to snuff out. It allows the writers to allow these temporal agents to travel to any time they want (Enterprise, TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and times which we never saw in cannon) and stop whatever catastrophe is the crisis.

I could image them having cameos with previous Star Trek characters or doing inserts like DS9 did with Trials and Tribbleations. The ability to use future technology to deconstruct some of the past of Star Trek and allow for plausible explanations to events like where did the Borg come from or who built the Dyson Sphere?

Other than a series taking a total face flop and using time travel as a crutch to solve a normal starships operational problems, how could this not be entertaining Trek?
