What is the best way to play Alchemist in terms of strategy , lane , item build etc.

Alchemist. What can i say about him... Other than he is my favorite hero and that i absolutely love the fact that he can stun somebody for 4 seconds witch almost always nets a kill in the early game there is nothing else i can say.Because i have no idea how to play him at all.I have seen some play with shadow blade but this build goes as far as pub level.

I want to know how does one play Alchemist in the most efficient way.
