Spray popper problems

Does anyone who uses duster (ethyl chloride, spray poppers, maximum impact, etc) ever have chest pains. My boyfriend was using it and got bad chest pains and almost passed out. I didn't like him doing it to begin with, and now he's agreed to stop. Just curious if others have heard of this.
