Transferring to SF for work in a few months. What's a good option for housing?

My company is going to pay my rent for a few months to help my transition, but I'm worried I won't be able to afford it after that. Assuming that I'll be making between $25-30/hr and have a dog, does anyone have any recommendations for areas that are good to move to? Ideally, I would like a studio, but I don't know if that's reasonable. How do twenty-somethings afford to live here? Thanks! :)
