Virgin haired Brunette.. goes... blonde?

So. I've always loved the Barbie blonde look. I also love my healthy, shiny, long, thick hair. I did a strand test last night and the bleach I used turned it to a really perfect shade. Very light, and no noticeable orangey tones. (I'm sure if I did my whole head though, those would show up)

I haven't really dyed my hair before, and I've always had that urge but I held out for fear of damage/upkeep. So, to other brunettes out there, did you go blonde? How did it work for you?
