Can I actually get my mom in trouble by reporting the kind of shit she's done?
Over the past few years, my mom and my stepdad really haven't liked each other too much, but in the past year alone, it's been the worst.
Note: between the two of them, police have already been called on each other once or twice each.
Several times now, when they argue, death threats (by my mom, to my stepdad) have been made, along with similar things - notably, "I hope you get hit by a truck and die." Also, she has broken some things, including a TV remote and a telephone, by attempting to throw them at him. He has had to defend himself before - one time, she threw a punch; he blocked, grabbed, and twisted her wrist to prevent himself from being hit. That event alone , a few minutes later, became police visit #1, where my mom claimed him abusing her and stuff like that.
If it helps, I, 15 years old, usually take my stepdad's side in the arguments, because in these arguments, my mom is full of crap (making no sense, blatant lies that couldn't even be real, etc.), while my stepdad almost never says anything that hasn't happened or isn't true.
Earlier today, they were arguing, and at one point, she tried to throw the home phone at him. She missed (by a LOT), but it was clear she was trying to hit him. I said something about how the next time I see her try to hurt him again, I'd call the police and report her, although Now I'm not sure there's anything I could report. Do I have anything?
Edit: Y'all, I myself am perfectly fine. Thanks for your concern. But really, all I was asking is if she could actually get into trouble, even if she's never actually "injured" him, per se.
