Why aren't there more Trundles out there?

I have a tendancy to like obscure champs that aren't played much. And some of them I kind of get why they aren't more widely played(there's someone that can do the same job as they can, but better) but I recently bought and am playing Trundle because I've literally seen him played like 2ce in the whole time I've played League, and I really like him. He's got ridiculous base stats, FAST jungle clear times, one of the best champs I've played at running away from almost anyone, he has an awesome skill set that includes 2 abilities to counter some of the most annoying/op champs like Malphite, Cho-Gath, other tanks etc., he can get really unkillable mid-late game while still having decent damage output.

I don't know; I'm really enjoying him, and I was just wondering why I don't see more of him?

edit: Also, I think it's funny how I'm having proclaimed diamond tier players in ranked ask me what her ult does... edit 2: Apparently Trundle is MALE...
