Acer Iconia A100 tablet not going past load screen

My wife's acer iconia a100 crashed on her and is stuck on this screen when turned on. I've tried using the reset button on the bottom to no avail. I haven't tried holding the power button, volume button, and flipping the lock screen button because I'm told that will erase all the data from the device. All we really want are the files on it. There are a couple pictures and videos we want to save. Is there anyway to bypass the normal OS and load it using some other tool to get access to the files? Thanks in advnace.
