Does anyone else get this problem?

Today While I was trying to gift a friend, who lives in Germany NA account the champion Kennen. However when I gifted to him, the end screen showed his name and the champion, however it was sent to a completely different person, which according to lolking hasn't been on for a month,. I have contacted Riot support filling in on the details. Just wanted to know has this happen to anyone else?
