Can I upgrade the headunit?

I have an '08jk. I just got factory bluetooth installed after researching other options because I wanted handsfree streaming and integration minus the hassle of using the aux in or going with a third party headunit.

I got the bluetooth installed, but apparently the older RES units don't support bluetooth streaming of media -- as far as I can tell. I didn't get the USB cords installed or anything as I didn't need them.

I plan on having this jeep until it dies. Can I upgrade the headunit to a newer model? Should I just go aftermarket? Do these models stream media over bluetooth?
