Running torrented games through VMWare Fusion issues. Please help!

I downloaded VMWare Fusion and Windows 8 on my macbook. I torrented a game but whenever I try to play it, I get an error which says "virtual hard disk files can't be mounted from image files, or from removable media that isn't formatted with NTFS file system." I have spent quite a few hours trying to figure everything out but I'm lost. Any help would be much appreciated.
