Some questions...
Okay, so, it's been a wild year for me so far. I finally let myself admit to myself what I've always know; I am really gay. It was crazy liberating. After trying to convince myself that I was straight for 20 some-odd years it feels amazing to let myself be me.
Anyway, so I've been working hard on making new friends, going out on dates and doing my thing, but I have a couple questions.
One: I went out on several dates with one girl who would frequently just look at me and say, "you're so gay!" Like, I know. It was funny at first, but it really started to get on my nerves. The question: Is it normal for friends or people you're dating to be constantly reminding you that you are gay?
Two: I am often asked about my "type". I don't feel like a really have one. I also don't really know where I fall on the femme - butch scale. I dress some where in the middle but a little more feminine, but I feel like mannerisms are kind of masculine. The question: Is it normal to not have a "type" per se, and do I have to put a label on where I fall?
I don't know if these are dumb questions or not, but I felt the need to ask. I've also slowly been coming out to old friends, which so far has gone amazingly. All in all it's been a little bit of an awesome whirlwind because I finally feel like me and lesbians are fantastic. haha
