BBCOR vs. Wooden

Last year (and this year) I was forced to use a -3 BBCOR bat. Just recently while at the cages I went into the shop and picked up a wooden bat. It felt nice. BBCOR just nerfs it to be roughly the same as wooden right? I like the texture of it; it feels good in my hands. They're cheaper too.

Obviously, if you go and buy a BBCOR bat the cost $300+ it'll be better because it has a bigger sweet spot and the weight is proportioned differently, but my current bat is about the same as the wooden in terms of weight proportion and sweet-spot.

Would it be better to get a wooden bat? Are there upsides to it that I'm not considering? I've done researching and a lot of people prefer wooden bats.

BBCOR means that the "bounce" or "trampoline effect" is artificially lowered to .5, so that it's basically the same as a wooden bat.
