Did the clinic treat you differently for your second baby?

I was just wondering if anyone else was treated differently for their second pregnancy. My first baby, I had my first appt at 8 weeks, and an ultrasound at 10 weeks. This time, I had my confirmation of pregnancy appt, at 4 weeks, and the clinic refused to schedule me for another appointment until after 12 weeks because "that's what the dr suggested" I switched to a birth center, still couldn't get in until 12 weeks, so my first appointment is Monday. I'm just kinda wondering if this is normal, or what.
