Gender-normative behavior in childhood and sexual orientation

A question came up in an askreddit thread about whether non-gender normative behavior in childhood (eg a boy playing with Barbie) was at all linked to sexual orientation as an adult. Is it thought there's a psychological link, a social link, or a statistical artifact, or is there no link at all?
