Have we proved that God doesn't exist, or that he isn't necessary and other reasoning.

Ok, so as an atheist I often feel misrepresented by some of the more extreme 'anti-god' members of our community and my reasoning and beliefs are developed below.

Many of you would agree that the Big Bang Theory and evolution are grounds for us to effectively disprove God; but they are not. They do not disprove God, they prove that God is not necessary. So really there is as much evidence disproving God as there is proving God. None, on both sides

If we stick with the Big Bang Theory, we are essentially saying that at some point there was so much nothing that nothing collapsed, then nothing exploded and all matter was created from nothing. Now as a concept is that really any more likely then there being a superior being? Who could have been created in a similar way to how we believe our universe to be? Either way we end up with the same problem, at some point everything that is, will have come from nothing.

For those of you who say that God or the universe must therefore be eternal, Think of it like this; a circle is theoretically an infinite line. It has no beginning, it has no end, like i said it's infinite. If you draw a circle you have to start somewhere, and the circle isn't infinite until you loop round and connect to this start point. So although the circle is now infinite, it still started somewhere. This can be applied to the universe and God, you may believe that they are infinite, and they may be, but at some point they had a start and at some point everything formed from a whole bunch of nothing.

As for my personal views, I do not believe in God (duh), I accept and embrace the big bang theory and evolution; however, I also accept that the chance of there being a 'higher' being is probably just as likely as nothing exploding into a bunch of something.

Feel free to discuss below.

TL;DR Science hasn’t disproved God, just proved God isn’t necessary.

EDIT I am not suggesting we must disprove God to not believe in God, I'm just saying that some people misuse evolution and the big bang theory as evidence against god in flawed argument. The burden of providing proof lies with those who wish to claim God exists, and not with those that choose not to believe in him or not to have a belief either way.
