Question about motherboard pins.

I just purchased a new motherboard and CPU. I was hoping to reuse my PSU that I already owned. I have a thermaltake PSU, with 2 four pin, 1 20 pin, and 1 6 pin connectors. The motherboard I just purchased is 24 pin connection with an 8 pin CPU connection. I do plan on eventually upgrading the PSU when I can afford it and a new graphics card. My question is, is there any way to either use the 6 pin for the CPU power. Or to use the 20 pin only, and use the 2 4 pins for the CPU? It will be a bit before I can afford to pickup a new PSU or even an adapter for this (assuming that exists).

The CPU is the FX 6300. And my Mobo is a gigabyte 78LMT

Any help would be appreciated.
