Reddit, can we have a discussion about lore, retconning, and "badass creep"?

With the newest patch to the pbe, which changes the lore of Udyr, Gragas, Tryndamere, and Nunu I feel that it's about time we talk about lore updating. I feel quite split on the topic, as many of the updates help flesh out champions' character and add new connections between them, yet some re-write and erase much of the world and even add to the inconsistencies. Udyr for example has had his place of origin changed from Ionia to Frelijord and has become some sort of defender of nature, which is almost a complete 180 from someone who willingly became feral and is all about ripping his oponents to pieces. What are your thoughts? Are/when are recons OK in your opinion?
