Why would a world file size suddenly shrink (440mb to 130)?

Hey guys, just noticed my MC worlds file size has suddenly dropped from 440mb to 130mb. Any reason this might happen? About a month ago I trimmed it up with world edit (it used to be 550mb), but I have not removed anything else since.
