So just realized as of today, I've been a reddit user for two years

I gotta say that stumbling across this website at the age of 15 was quite an interesting experience. I learned quickly to not voice my opinion if it went against the hivemind or state my age because everyone got their pitchforks out and such for kids my age.

So I lurked in the big subreddits (ashamed to say f7u12 was what introduced me to reddit...not sure if it's me becoming a bit more mature or what, but the rage comics just dont interest me anymore).

But reddit isn't all bad, far from it. I've recently unsubscribed to all the default subreddits except r/askreddit and subscribed to a lot of the smaller subreddits. It feels more 'homey', if you will. They're usually more accepting, and I feel more comfortable posting. I love being able to get on reddit and see every varied topics of stuff happening with the world, video games, technology, baseball, tv shows...Plus there's no better feeling than finding other people out there who share the same interests as you

r/atheism at first was annoying, but then I re-subbed since I wanted to expose myself to differing viewpoints. I hadn't encountered anyone who wasn't a Christian...and I soon converted away from Christianity. I wouldn't say atheist, I'd just say no religion. It's changed how I view life...like I live in South Carolina and everyone is generally religious. With that being said, almost all of that content in that sub is garbage and not even worth my time, and I know how NOT to act based on how people act on that sub

I also feel like I'm getting a bit more ready for college thanks to people's advice here. Threads about college preparedness and such get me excited for the fall. Heading to Clemson University this fall, can't wait!

I dunno what I'm accomplishing by posting this, but rather than spamming subreddits with links to reactiongifs in a hope to get link karma, I'll just post this here.

Hope everyone who reads this is having an awesome Saturday and an awesome weekend

Take care,
