trouble with my 2001 kia rio,

hello guys (and girls) or r/cartalk, i believe i have the right subreddit for this matter. I am having some trouble with my car, it is a 2001 kia rio. it is a 5-speed, and it will crank just fine but the car starts to sputter as soon as its cranked. it will run, but it revs really high and will not accelerate worth a damn. it just seems like all the power is completely gone, as i cannot get the car to go past 25 in 2nd gear. i need help. this is my first car, and i've always gotten regular oil changes. this sputtering has got to stop! does anyone have any ideas?
