/r/bjj whats your honest opinion of the 50/50 and guard pulling

heres my opinion which will probably get me downvoted but who cares.

1. Can't be used in a real fight? No shit, its a fucking tournament strategy, people who honestly think the miyaos/keenan would pull guard or go for 50/50 in a real fight are idiots. It's meant for sport and tournament jiu jitsu. Keenan pulls guard because he has to in order to beat the miyaos, he's said it himself just falling into their guard's and trying to pass is suicide.

2. It's boring, yeah I agree with you, but thats how the sport has evolved. Think about it, people used to think having someone in your guard equated to you losing. Eventually the game will change again as it always does, eventually someone will come along with the right technique or techniques and destroy people who pull guard or try to stall in 50/50
