Can't log in anymore

Installed Ubuntu 12.10 and xubuntu-desktop for xfce. Now when I try to log into my account I type my password, I get a brief flash of a command line, and then I'm back at the login page as if I'd just logged out.

Is there something I can do? Logging into a Ubuntu/xfce/xubuntu session doesn't change the result.

EDIT: Issue fixed, thanks watabowtit
