"I have a story that will make you believe in god" - Life of pie. As an atheist made me understand what people think of as "God" and "faith" and helped me believe in the human spirit.

I found the movie - and the book- to be saying, in the end, that religion is nothing but stories, and you choose the one that best helps you understand and cope with the fact that you and everyone you love is eventually going to die. That you will experience suffering and loss, and that sometimes horrible things happen to good people through no fault of their own.
