Is it possible to have multiple keyboards plugged in via USB and directed to different applications?

Question is mostly self-explanatory. For musical purposes, I'm wondering if it's possible to hook multiple keyboards, all plugged directly into my laptop, up to different applications such as Ardour, SooperLooper, etc. I'm okay with some digging around in the code and I'm familiar with compiling packages and some basic C/C++. I'm currently on Arch Linux. If there's a better place to direct this question, let me know.
