The Celebration (1998). I just watched it and though I like to wait a couple of days before I make my final judgement about a movie, this is not the case. It is a movie you need to watch before you die.
It is the first in the series of movies that follow the Dogme 95 manifesto created by Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg that is opposite to the Hollywood style. But don't be afraid, it is not some abstract experiment without a purpose. It is a way to make you be there and believe what you see.
The Celebration is one of the movies that I was sceptical about as I don't enjoy movies being made for the sake of the process itself. Now I'm just glad that there are gems like this that I haven't seen.
If you are still not sure, check imdb and rottentomatoes to see whether it is a movie for you.
Now if you seen this movie and some other in a Dogme series. Are there anything else like this? Because I now remember that a long time ago I tried to watch The Idiots, and I didn't like it and stopped watching shortly.
