Tryed Fedora and it broke, moving onto another

I decided to try out Fedora as I want to begin to learn how to do adminastration some, and guessed that Fedora would be good since it's with red hat. The most recent kernal dosn't work and I decided on trying another distro.Probably going to try Sabayon next, anyone here use it?
