I unintentionally supplied materials to a scammer.
I was at varrock bank and I saw this guy with the flash text, buying Attack potions (4) for 700 each. I was like, damn, thats a hefty price for attack pots, as they are normally almost junk, worth like 150gp ea max or so.
I had a nice bit accumulated in my bank from herblore and also from buying from the potion store in the warrior guild, but they only sell in 3 dose. So I had like 70 (4) and like 350 (3). I immediately sold my 4 dose, even though I was skeptical he was really buying them. And yes, he bought them for 700 gp ea. Which is very good for me.I added his name so I could see if he was still online so I could quickly sell more to him while I decanted the rest. I made a nice bit from him.
Then I noticed he logged out and hopped from world 1 to 2, and then a few minutes later, to 6, and then a few minutes later, back to world 1. I was curious about this strange behavior so I followed him into the world and I saw him trying to sell prayer potions(4) for 8k each, and it's then that I realized he bought the attk pots to scam people by offering prayer pots and then switching to attack pots. 3 dose p pots were 7k+ ea so it was obvious.
At the end of the day, I aint even mad. I made a nice chunk of profit in a few minutes worth of clicking, and if people get scammed, it sucks for them, but that's how they will learn to check the second trade window. If I knew he was going to scam ahead of time, I still would have supplied him the attack pots. No regrets for me, but I'm sure other people may feel different.
Oh yeah, and I did report him.
