Just got a positive Filaria anti-body test.

Hey. I've been sick for 2 years now with profound fatigue, nausea, muscle weakness, insomnia, migraines, brain fog and post exertion malasie. I fell ill after travelling to West Africa. The doctors told me it was Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I eventually got presumptive treatment for parasites (Albendazole and Ivermectin) I felt a lot better, I used to have muscle aches and all my symptoms were more severe for the first year. I had to use a scooter to get around. Now I can walk again and I am less house bound but still unable to return to university. So the doctors told me it was post-viral fatigue syndrome and severe deconditioning. Now I finally have a test result so I can treat the parasite. Still have to wait for a proper specialist appointment (urg, Canada wait-times) Oddly my symptoms don't match Filaria, they sure match CFS though. Posting this for those that have traveled and others that may have other causes of their CFS that need to be explored. Don't give up.
