guitar pic advice?

planning on buying a metal guitar pic as a present and getting something engraved on it. I was thinking of buying a silver one but thought as this metal is relatively soft, it might become distorted on metal guitar strings. Was looking for some advice on this subject. maybe stainless steel would be better if they make those?
