Is Season 4 Intended To Only Be One Semester?

We still haven't reached Christmas or the start of the next semester, so I'm wondering if the writers intended season 4 to be semester 7 and season 5 semester 8. Also lending itself to this argument is the fact that Jeff is supposed to graduate in the finale. He made mention to the fact that he was going to graduate earlier at the start of the year.

Personally, I think this is smart if true. It means we won't have to leave the Greendale setting if there is a season 5. Also, I think That 70's Show employed a similar tactic that expand the lifeline of that show.

What do you guys think? Is this what's happening? How do you feel about it?
