My Theory on Mewtwo's new form...

So with the official announcement that the new Pokemon is just Mewtwo's "awakened" form I theorize that this is what Giovanni and Team Rocket meant to create when they set out to clone Mew. In the Pokemon manga they could never create a successful copy of Mew until they added human DNA(Blaine's) to stabilize the cloning process which is what gives us the Mewtwo we know and love. But what if the process of Awakening Mewtwo is just removing his human DNA and as a result rewrites his genetic code making him a full Pokemon. And because he had the human DNA integrated into his biology for so long is what makes his Awakened form to look more Mew like and less human. We will learn more when the new movie comes out this is just my thoughts on the matter.
