Chargers retaliate with slaughter of their own against divisional rival, Broncos.
After the Chargers got blown out last week against the red hot New Orleans Saints, they knew they had to bounce back, so they did just that. Taiwan Jones and Doug Martin led the running attack with starting QB Matt Flynn dumping off screens when he needed to. This was the first game Flynn threw no picks and actually had a perfect QB rating.
Before this game, the Chargers had absolutely no running touchdowns all season, so both Martin and Jones figured they needed to catch up with the rest of the league. Taiwan scored 5 touchdowns with 237 yards, while his partner in crime Doug scored 2 with 131 yards.
San Diego defense also stepped up with 4 takeaways from both Drew Brees and TJ Yates. Koa Misi (WHO?!) was responsible for 2 of those including a crucial one in the red zone which resulted in Brees being taken out of the game.
The Chargers now go into their bye week second in their division and feeling good about a possible wildcard spot. Will they turn up next week against the Browns? Time will tell.
Final Score: Chargers 63 Broncos 0
