Tips for a first-time ferret mom? All advice appreciated.

I've been wanting my very own fuzzy for quite some time, but I assumed I'd be waiting another year or more (when I'd be in my own place and settled) for the chance. It was so spur of the moment; I fell in love with an 8 month old girl who was possibly abandoned or got loose on a road before finding her way to a family pet store that takes in rescues... and I amazingly got permission from my dad to pick her up tomorrow (4/14).

Although I've been reading obsessively about my dream pet and stalking this subreddit, I find myself feeling totally unprepared (I swear, this is the exact feeling soon-to-be-mothers tell everyone about, hehe)! I want to be the best ferret mom possible, so I'd love to hear all advice, whether it be about basic care, things to look for, food, home-made toys, and especially FERRET-PROOFING! I know that it's easy to read up on stuff, but the real expertise comes from awesome people like you who handle them every day!

tl;dr: Getting my first fuzzy tomorrow, mostly spur of the moment. All advice appreciated. ;)
