Configuring Bluetooth USB Dongle on Linux Mint 14
Hello, I hope I'm on the right subreddit for this issue.
I'm on a Sony Vaio netbook running Linux Mint 14 with MATE. The netbook has on-board bluetooth and it was automatically configured during the Mint installation. It works flawlessly.
The problem is... I want to use QtSixA (a Sixaxis controller manager) and for it to work over Bluetooth with my controller, it needs a USB dongle I already have. The dongle works as a charm on Windows with MotionJoy drivers, and I know it also works on Linux with this program. The issue is, I can't make the dongle to work on Mint.
After a lsusb, I get the following:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:5801 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
So the system recognizes the dongle, but then QtSixa doesn't recognize it. I think I need to start the dongle, but I don't know how, or if it's gonna cause any conflict with the on-board Bluetooth. Also, if possible, I would like to configure it so the dongle auto-starts when plugged in (doesn't matter if it auto shuts down the on-board one in the process).
I hope someone can help me.
