I need help applying for jobs...but I'm afraid to ask a friend for help. What's the best way to do this?
I need to ask a friend to help me apply for jobs but I'm completely stumped on how I should go about doing it.
Let me just start by saying I'm a 34 year old male and I'm a complete mess. I am horrendously unmotivated. I can't focus on any tasks that take longer than 10 minutes. I'm having extreme difficulty with critical thinking, forming opinions, recalling important information from memory and I'm extremely depressed. I have a part time job right now where I work once a week. I need healthcare, and I need a full time job. I'm having terribly difficult time trying to focus long enough to do my resume and submit job applications.
I seriously need someone to be with me as I do this. I've tried it before on my own and its just not working out. I get distracted or demoralized during the process and I never finish. I need someone to hold my hand and encourage me. I need someone to keep me from distraction.
But how do you tell a friend that? I'm afraid of how they might perceive me. "Dude, your 34 years old...grow up."
I'm afraid they might find it odd that I would even ask such a thing. I feel like a complete retard for doing this. I would ask my mom, I know she would help, but she doesn't know the first thing about computers or even how to write a resume. Plus, my mom sucks at encouraging me or motivating me. The minute I give up, she will as well.
I need someone who is smart, who can motivate me and someone who understands what I'm going through. I can think of a few friends but I don't know exactly how to approach them. Any suggestions?
