Best kid story of the week!
Background (very brief): I work with kids in a half retail half entertainment setting. We do birthday parties (some of us better than others), and today I had one of about 10 kids. We have the option of putting customized sounds inside of our products and one kid was very set on adding one. I usually see kids stick to different, more interesting options for their toys, but this little guy was set on a sound.
Mind you, it is a busy weekend, and our store is packed. We have parties line up back to back on the hour. So the kid asks for his mom's phone and goes into a quiet corner. My manager is subtly letting me know to rush things along and I go to check on him.
Me: Hey buddy, need any help? Kid (buddy): Na, just gotta find one to get the sound I want.
I look and see he is playing minecraft of all things, and he wants a creeper explosion for his toy, but he is having trouble and is getting frustrated trying to find a creeper to slay. So i whip out my phone (which we aren't supposed to have on us..but who doesn't?) and youtube the creeper explosion sound for him and get it set. He claims that I made his day, but it he who made mine.
