Can anyone summarise the bioshock 1/2 lore/story?

So ive been playing bioshock infinite without playing bioshock 1 & 2 and honestly i dont even like this kind of fps-games. I just really love the lore. But ive already come pretty far so i will finish infinite. But can anyone help me with the lore of 1 & 2? How does this "lighthouse" connect with infinite? Ive watched all the endings for 1 & 2 and some animated Lore summarsiation of Bioshock 1 but it didnt really help.
