In your opinion, what was the most important invention in human history?

I'm just curious what people think is the most important invention in history that has allowed us to live the life we do today.

For me I would have to say the railroad. It was invented before roads, and cars and such and was the only efficient way to transport people and goods long distances. It lead to some pretty amazing growth in the economy, and really accelerated industrial growth.
