A thought on medals
I was recently looking at the warbonds after finishing a personal mission and a thought occurred to me. Medals, which we exchange for new armors, weapons, and the like in the warbonds, are trophies issued to soldiers having preformed exemplary deeds. Of course, that's why we find them scattered around the battlefield and are awarded them for missions, we didn't have to go explore that abandoned settlement, salute the fallen at the pods, or even perform the missions given to us, but we do, and are awarded for our actions above and beyond the call of duty.
That said, warbonds were often used in earlier times are a way for the government to finance further military purchases or as a form of temporary credit in the event of not having the capital to make or purchase what they need. So the fact that they are using medals as a form of currency seems a little odd. It might be taken as them not having enough medals to properly distribute, so they take medals as credit for us to obtain the weapons and gear we need.
Since this seems to be the case, and we are eccentually creating a form of "commendation currency", does that mean that eventually we might roll around and find one of our earliest medals being reissued to us from a MO or personal mission from super earth? Or perhaps I might stumble back upon it, having been seeded by super earth of some distant battlefield as a way to reward us for going out of the way to explore and find the enemies of managed democracy?
