My (24M) girlfriend (27F) of two years rarely interacts w/ me online and I feel unseen. Is this just an age difference thing, how can we find a middle ground?

This might not seem like a big deal but it’s something that’s been on my mind lately and I don’t know what to do. So I hope someone might be able to help.

TLDR; my partner (27F) doesn’t reply to the posts I share with her on social media DMs. For me it’s kind of like a love language I would say, a way to connect. But she’s not used to this type of interaction at all so the messages I send will just stack up like crazy. We’ve tried having specific “chill sessions” where we’ll just scroll through what I sent her together, but that’s not really working as it happens very rarely.

So I’m looking to find a way towards some sort of middle ground where I can receive that online connection but it’s also more doable for her to easefully interact in that way. I have no clue if it’s possible or how that could look like.

Context: So my partner (27F) is amazing, we fit in many ways. A difference from the start has been how I’m (24M) more typical Gen Z, knowing memes, internet culture, texting a lot, being online, etc. while she is much more in her niche bubble when it comes to the internet and social media and she doesn’t really go so much online, we even joke that she’s a “tribes woman”. Something else that might be relevant is that she struggles with replying to text messages and DMs. In that sense I’m a priority as she actually always replies to my text messages regularly. We live together so we do interact irl all the time.

Struggle: My current struggle is that when I’m scrolling on Instagram of tiktok or even reddit, I often come across posts that are really interesting or are referencing something we’ve talked about recently or just are cute or funny and make me think of her, so I go to share it with her of course. But they just stack and stack without any replies.

For me, sharing these posts is like continuing a conversation. Sharing in this way always feels meaningful to me, it’s kind of a love language I would even say.

So when she doesn’t see them it sucks, I feel kind of ignored or unappreciated even though I know that’s not at all her feelings/intentions, it’s just that she’s not used to this type of interaction.

We’ve already talked about this specific struggle multiple times and sometimes we’ve done specific TikTok sessions for example where we chill and watch the videos I sent to her together (though we never finish them all since I send new ones quite often and these sessions rarely ever happen, I could probably count on my hand).

However as time has kept on passing the struggle remains, and I’ve noticed myself feeling less excited when I see a video that makes me think of her because I think to myself, “what’s the point of sharing if she won’t see it”. It’s at this point where today I noticed how something that for me is such a joyful way of connecting with friends and loved ones, is now feeling pointless.

Question: I don’t know what to do? I feel like an option is to just accept it and give up on this mode of connection (which kinda feels like it would suck) or I don’t know. It doesn’t come natural for her and letting it go also feels unnatural for me.

I’m hopping to figure out how to find some sort of middle ground where we can meet, but I have no clue how to proceed, what that middle ground could look like or if it’s even possible.
