Screen Time at Daycare?

Recently I’ve noticed that my son’s daycare has been showing videos on an iPad to the kids at random times (they provide camera access so I can see this happening). I didn’t say anything at first, but after usage seemed to increase I mentioned something to the Assistant Director. She said she’d talk to the teacher about it because she shouldn’t be doing that.

Well it’s continued to happen, but mainly when my son wakes up from nap time and all the other kids are still asleep. I guess it’s their way of entertaining him quietly so the other kids can continue to sleep? But I still really don’t like it. Am I being a bit dramatic or demanding about limiting screen time? I’m not trying to make the teacher’s job difficult but I’d rather my son do an activity than stare at a screen.

Is screen time usage normal for daycares?
