Anyone Else Feel like the Star Trek films are becoming what Star Wars is for so many people?
I don't know how to ask this without having people rage. How can I say that the new dumbed down Star Trek films are anything compared to the original 3 Star Wars.
But for me, Star Trek was balls emptying amazing. I loved it. I was pulled into it so hard. I thought the chemistry between Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto could be achieved by NO ONE ELSE. I had the feeling that these two despised each other more than anything else but are brought together through conflict. Sure it's typical but it just was amazing imo.
Everything about Star Trek and the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness just feels so epic to me, so over the top lens-flaring awesome. I love the lens flare!
I'm youngish, 23 and I just feel like Star Wars wasn't "mine". I know DURR there are others in their early 20's who orgasm over Star Wars but as much as you love it, listening to someone who is 30 something they seem to love it way more than someone who is early 20 something talking about Star Wars.
I'm so fucking excited for the direction this franchise is going. I think The Dark Knight will go down as our generations "omg you should have been alive" trilogy, but I think Star Trek may have the weight to really muscle into the conversation.
