What should I get at the skate shop?

This week I plan on getting a custom skateboard at a local shop. This is my first one, and my main concern is that I may buy the wrong wheels or something and they won't work as great as I'd want.

What I'm looking for is something capable of doing tricks, but that can also ride over slightly rough ground.

Any recs for any specific board parts?
