New player - should I get the 1810 gear?

Like my title says. I started playing like 3 days ago and since yesterday I read that I can claim 1810 gear from the Hall of Champions.
My question now is whether I should even do that since it kinda destroys progression? I am at 1710 rn and my plan is to play through all the old expansions and some pvp but I dont see myself doing raids or high end content before the next expansion releases.
