Am I too aggressive when playing tank?

Been playing Overwatch for a few months or so, hopped into competitive play about a month ago and have been fluctuating around the high silver ranks for a bit. I feel like my mechanical skill is on the better side compared to most other players at this rank, but sometimes it feels like my teammates are making extremely questionable plays (usually doing things like neglecting mercy's damage beam and ana boosting me when I'm very obviously about to die and just wasting it) and it ends up feeling I lost a match when there was nothing I could do. I'm aware a problem that I have on occasion is I can sometimes get a little too punch-happy when playing Ramattra, but other than that I'm looking for tips on how to play more effectively in matches like this.
