Global affairs Canada - Criminal Record check apostille waiting time?

What the hell is this.

it takes an average of three months to get your document's apostilled by global affairs Canada. The visa i'm trying to get requires a criminal record check that can be no older than 5 months... and its already a month old so that leaves me with 4 months, and who knows when the appointment for the consulate interview is going to be.

if i will be receiving the documents, it will be last minute and may not even arrive in time for the interview. are there any solutions to this BS?
