Where are my overstimulated moms at?

Discussion

I feel like I get way more overstimulated then I used to before I had my son. I'm used to working with children so I didn't think it would be this bad.

Today my husband was feeding our son a snack while I was making lunch. My son is very messy. There was still some stuff on the floor around his chair from the night before. My husband sits our son on the floor and streets vacuuming the kitchen, which is close to where I'm cooking. I'm having to kind of menauver around where he's vacuuming. Not a big deal as I appreciate having a clean kitchen. Then my son starts banging something loud on the floor. Then I trip over the high chair because it was behind me. I slide it over to get to the drawer behind it. Between sliding the high chair around that's in front of everything I need, to moving around the vacuuming making noise, my son banging something loud, the air from the vacuum hitting me I took the toy from my son and yelled over the vacuum we need to stop. I can't do it. It's too much. I need to concentrate on cooking. I was behind on lunch because I felt like I couldn't hear myself think. My husband obsessively cleans. His whole family is like that. Thay clean no matter what's going on or whether others are there. I feel overstimulated about that a lot. He gets frustrated with me because he wants to clean and I really really do appreciate the help but sometimes I feel like it's not the right time to clean.

I don't know how to help being overstimulated or explain to my husband how his cleaning sometimes overstimulated me because there's just too much going on.
