Freshman English: English 10800 or SCLA 101

Hi, I'm a new international student that's planning to major in game dev, and I just got an email about English placement. It says that I may register in English 10800 or SCLA 101. I'm wondering about the differences between these two courses, the difficulty levels, and also recommendations based on my major.
