Looking for code Review React Hook + Componenet

I have been exploring making reusble hooks and components that exposes variables. I have feeling there is probably a better way but this is what i came up with. I created a faculty filter.

I'm new to typescript so any tips welcomed. I was just trying to get rid of all the red.
